Beyond is a 14-suite adults-only retreat on the southwest coast of Crete, opening in 2027. It sits above Paleochora on the Libyan Sea, the African- facing edge of Europe, with the White Mountains rising behind the village and Gavdos thirty-two nautical miles to the south.

Beside the suites there is a Mediterranean restaurant with an open kitchen and eighty covers, a 156 square metre zero-edge infinity pool with its own bar, a full spa with four treatment rooms, and a preserved natural cave on the estate.

We are looking for a Hotel Manager to lead and take full responsibility for the operation of the hotel.

The role reports directly to ownership and holds accountability for all departments, financial performance and the guest experience.

• Recruitment: design the organisational structure, hire, contract and train the team across all departments
• Operational design: build the guest journey and the SOPs for front office, housekeeping, F&B and maintenance
• Suppliers: select vendors, negotiate contracts, place opening orders and set up stock control

• Systems: select and configure PMS, POS, channel manager and CRM
• Compliance: operating licences, safety protocols, HACCP and GDPR
• Budgeting: build the pre-opening budget and the first annual operating budget

• Operational leadership: run daily operations across front office, housekeeping, restaurant, bar and maintenance
• Guest experience: hold a consistently high standard of service, stay personally close to guests, resolve issues on the spot
• Team management: scheduling, performance reviews, ongoing training and a working culture people stay in
• Financial management: budget and P&L ownership, cost control, payroll management, forecasting

• Commercial collaboration: work with the sales, marketing and revenue teams on pricing, distribution channels and partnerships
• Quality and reputation: manage reviews and complaints, run internal quality audits, uphold standards
• Health and safety: hygiene and safety compliance, emergency procedures
• Reporting: regular operational and financial reporting to ownership

Experience

• Minimum 5 years in hotel management, including 2 years as Hotel Manager, Deputy Manager or Head of Department in a 4 or 5 star property
• Proven experience leading a team, and hiring and training staff
• Demonstrated ownership of budgets, P&L analysis and cost control
• Working knowledge of F&B, not rooms alone

Skills and systems

• Fluent Greek and English, written and spoken
• Confident with PMS, POS and channel manager systems, plus MS Office or Google Workspace
• Working understanding of revenue management and online distribution

Personal qualities

• Leads by example, in a small team where the manager also works the floor when needed
• Organised, calm under pressure, clear on priorities
• Flexible with hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays during the season
• Willing to relocate to and live in Paleochora for the duration of the contract
• Driving licence

Desirable

• Hotel pre-opening experience
• Background in a boutique or lifestyle property with low key count and high average rate
• Degree in Hospitality Management, Business
• Administration or a related field
• A third language
• Experience working with international hospitality brands or networks
